I would like to try out a plugin. Are there demo versions available?

Every commercial plugin is by default in demo mode until a license is purchased. This means you can download it from any product page and try it out beforehand. Trying out the demo also ensures that your host app is compatible with the plugin. The download button is found on every product page next to the Add to cart button.

The plugin immediately crashes upon launch from within Photoshop. How can I fix this?

There have been a couple of very rare instances of this occurring with high performance machines, particularly those with a high number of cores. Among them, the Intel Core i9-9940X with 14 cores/28 threads and the Intel Xeon E5-2643 v4 with 6 cores/12 threads have been known to produce these crashes. The solution to fix this is to disable hyperthreading (virtual cores) in your BIOS, and use only physical cores.

The Photoshop plugin interface is larger than my screen and some buttons are not accessible. Why?

This is a common problem when your Windows font size is set to something lager than the default. To fix it, click on Start > Control Panel > Display and ensure that the size of the text is set to the default Smaller or 100%. A larger text size enlarges the interface and may push it outside your screen resolution boundaries. This is especially evident on laptops where Windows automatically enlarges the default font size due to smaller screens.

When launching After Effects on Mac, I receive a warning message saying: “Pluginname.plugin cannot be opened because Apple cannot check it for malicious software.” How do I fix this?

This is a common warning due to Apple’s security & privacy settings. You must allow apps from third parties to be opened and run by your Mac. In macOS Catalina and macOS Mojave, when an app fails to install because it hasn’t been notarized or is from an unidentified developer, go to System Preferences > Security & Privacy, and under the General tab, click Allow Anyway to confirm your intent to open or install the app. More information can be found here: https://support.apple.com/en-ca/HT202491
